Senator Dino Melaye, who serves as the spokesperson for the presidential campaign of Atiku Abubakar, has finally revealed the
reason why Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, did not attend the signing ceremony for the Presidential Peace Accord on Thursday.Meanwhile, it is important to know that Peter Obi, the candidate of the Labour Party, and Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as well as other party candidates physically, came to the event that took place in Abuja, Tinubu was represented by Kashim Shettima, his running mate.
It was reported on Thursday that the APC candidate is currently in London, United Kingdom as rumors circulating that the candidate may be experiencing some kind of health challenges.
In response to Tinubu's absence, Dino posted a video on his Facebook page in which he claimed to know the reason the former governor of Lagos was not present.
He did not, however, explain why the APC candidate was not present.
He said, "I noticed that Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the only presidential candidate who was absent at the signing of the National Peace Accord today. He was the only one absent.
"I know why he was absent. Unfortunately, there was no provision for thumbprinting. You have to sign. Atiku signed and that is all I have to say".
The president has called on all of the signatories of the Peace Accord following next year's election to stand by its agreement.

Buhari said, " The timing of the First National Peace Accord is significant considering political party campaigns have already commenced in the country.
"I look forward to the second phase of the signing of the National Peace Accord coming up in January 2023.
You may recall that President Goodluck Jonathan and I signed the first National Peace Accord before the 2015 elections.
"It's my conviction that it contributed significantly to the peaceful outcome of the 2015 election.
